Bombardier Repair Manuals

Joseph-Armand Bombardier, a mechanic from Valcourt, Quebec, spent years developing tracked vehicles that could travel over snow. In 1937 he began building the B7, an enclosed seven-passenger snow coach, and during the 1940s his larger B12 machines served rural communities as winter school buses, ambulances, and mail carriers. In 1942 he founded L'Auto-Neige Bombardier, the company that grew into Bombardier Inc. More than 2,800 of the larger B12 coaches were built through 1951 for use as school buses, ambulances, and mail vehicles across snowy regions.

In 1959 Bombardier introduced the Ski-Doo, the small single-rider snowmobile that created recreational snowmobiling as we know it. The name was born from a typographical error on an early brochure, which turned Ski-Dog into Ski-Doo. Bombardier later became a giant of rail transportation and aerospace, while its snowmobiles continued to be engineered in Valcourt; the recreational side of the business was eventually spun off in 2003 as Bombardier Recreational Products. The machine's success turned snowmobiling into a mass-market sport and made skidoo a common word for snowmobile across Canada.

Bombardier workshop and service manuals cover the tracked vehicles and snowmobiles built under the company's own name, including engine service, drive systems, suspension, steering, and electrical components. Manuals include wiring diagrams, torque specifications, diagnostic procedures, and scheduled maintenance information.

Owners of vintage Bombardier work machines, mechanics servicing early Ski-Doo models, and restorers of Canadian snowmobile history will all find these manuals valuable. Because these vehicles are now decades old and factory-trained support is long gone, reliable service documentation is especially valuable.
