Clark Repair Manuals

The Clark Equipment Company began in 1903 in Buchanan, Michigan, as a machine tool business. In 1917 its engineers built the Tructractor, a simple three-wheeled tug for moving materials around their own factory, and it is widely recognised as an ancestor of the modern forklift. Hydraulically lifted trucks followed in the 1920s, and Clark supplied large numbers of trucks to Allied forces during the Second World War.

Clark is known for counterbalance forklifts, tow tractors, and warehouse equipment, and its loaders also carried the Clark-Michigan name in construction. Power came from robust industrial petrol, LPG, and diesel engines, while electric models served food and pharmaceutical plants where exhaust fumes were unwelcome. C-series and later electric and IC ranges served factories and ports worldwide.

Clark manuals cover mast, chain, and hydraulic system service, powershift and clutch transmissions, brake systems, LPG fuel and ignition circuits, electric controller diagnostics on later trucks, steering axles, and load-handling components, with torque specifications and periodic maintenance charts throughout. Inspection checklists support the statutory thorough examinations required of lifting equipment.

Fleet maintenance shops, used-truck dealers, warehouse operators, and vintage plant collectors are the audience. Forklifts work hard for decades, and documented maintenance is what keeps them safe and productive well beyond first ownership, especially on second and third-life machines that have changed hands several times.
