Daelim Motor Company was founded in 1962 as part of the Daelim industrial group and built motorcycles under technical license from Honda, giving it proven designs from the start. For decades it shared the Korean market with Hyosung and exported widely, with particular strength in European scooter markets, before winding down motorcycle production in recent years.

The range centered on 50 to 250 cc machines: VS-series and S-series scooters, commuters such as the Aroma and Besbi, the Roadwin sport bike and the Daystar cruiser. The machines were conventional and carefully built rather than flashy, aimed at everyday riders, which is why so many are still in daily use and build quality was generally ahead of the budget segment.

Daelim manuals cover four-stroke engine service, CVT maintenance, valve adjustment, carburetor and fuel-injection work, brake and suspension service and wiring diagrams. Scheduled maintenance tables and torque specifications follow Honda-derived practice, which most mechanics find familiar, and diagnostic sections help isolate the starting and charging faults common to stored scooters.

Owners of surviving machines, importers servicing used Korean scooters and DIY riders doing their own maintenance all benefit from accurate data, especially now that factory support has faded. A correct manual turns an orphaned brand into a perfectly serviceable proposition. Owners' clubs and specialist parts suppliers still support these machines, so nothing prevents decades more use.
