Lincoln Repair Manuals

Lincoln was founded in 1917 by Henry Leland, who had earlier established Cadillac, and was named after Abraham Lincoln. Ford purchased the company in 1922 and built it into its luxury division. Landmark models include the Zephyr and original Continental of the late 1930s and the enduring Town Car.

Lincoln became a favourite of livery operators and executive fleets, with the rear-wheel-drive Town Car serving for three decades as America's definitive limousine platform. The Navigator, introduced for 1998, gave the brand a flagship full-size luxury SUV, followed by models such as the Aviator and Nautilus. Smooth engines, quiet interiors and long-distance comfort remain the brand's trademarks. The Continental Mark series of the 1950s and the unit-construction 1961 Continental remain collectors' favourites.
