Jerome Increase Case established his threshing machine business in Racine, Wisconsin, in 1842, and the company grew with American agriculture through steam traction engines and into tractors. The Old Abe eagle on the radiator became one of the industry's best-known trademarks, and the brand carried that heritage into construction equipment as well.

Case is known for tough, serviceable machines: the long-running 580 backhoe loader family found on job sites everywhere, dozers, wheel loaders, skid steers, and a full tractor line. Harvesting equipment and sprayers round out the agricultural range. In 1985 Case combined with International Harvester's agricultural business to form Case IH, and both names now sit within CNH Industrial, one of the world's largest equipment groups.

Case service manuals cover diesel engine overhaul, torque specifications, hydraulic system schematics and test pressures, powershift and shuttle transmissions, brakes, steering, electrical wiring, and undercarriage wear limits for tracked machines. Scheduled maintenance tables list lubrication points and service intervals that keep hydraulic pumps and final drives working for decades.

Farmers running older tractors, contractors maintaining backhoes and loaders, and restorers of vintage steam and early diesel Case machines all rely on factory documentation. Second-hand equipment rarely arrives with its books, so a downloaded manual is usually the cheapest and most useful tool in the shed, and it supports correct antique restorations where original specifications matter.
