Sherco was founded in 1998 as a French-Spanish venture dedicated to competition motorcycles, with production established at Caldes de Montbui near Barcelona and headquarters in France. From the outset the company built trials machines intended to compete at the highest level, and the name quickly became familiar in trials paddocks across Europe.

The trials line runs from small-displacement beginner machines to full-size 300-class bikes, and the range expanded into two-stroke and four-stroke enduro models and supermoto versions. Sherco remains one of the few independent competition specialists, building focused machines that stand alongside those of far larger manufacturers.
